ESPN Cricinfo Profile:

A whole hearted seam bowler, Steffan Jones has been a valuable addition to any county side in his lengthy career. Steffan started his career as at Glamorgan while still at Cambridge University. After graduating he joined Somerset where he spent seven years before moving to Northamptonshire in 2003. Although not a top order batsman, he memorably took apart the New Zealand touring attack in 1999 to register a thrilling century.

He was released by Northamptonshire at the end of the 2005 season and joined Derbyshire on a one-year deal. He returned to form with 59 first-class wickets in 2006 but moved back to Somerset for 2007. He played an integral part in 12 championship matches helping Somerset to the Division Two title in 2007 and he was a regular member of the one-day side.

Steffan continued to make useful contributions in 2008, but lost his place the following year, prompting loan stints at Kent and Derbyshire. Steffan almost roused Derbyshire to promotion in 2009 with 30 Championship wickets in eight games, but his efforts were rewarded with a permanent two-year deal at Derby, with additional bowling coach duties.
